We are bursting with pride to announce that our very own Priya Nayak, age 14, won the First Prize in the Classical Dance category at the Florida State Indian Cultural Competition held last month in Miami.
Priya has been training in Odissi dance at the FOS Arts Center for eight years under the guidance of our instructor. Her performance of ‘Mangalacharan’ was described by the judges as “technically flawless and emotionally moving.”
Priya’s win is not just a personal achievement — it is a victory for Odia classical arts in Florida and a testament to the dedication of our dance program. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Priya, her family, and her teacher.
This achievement inspires all of us to work harder in preserving and promoting the beautiful classical arts of Odisha right here in the Sunshine State.
